Back off sets of 105kg for 3x8 (75% of 1RM) after a heavy single with 120kg (85% of 1RM) which felt extremely light. Running @russwole volume 3 program the last 3 weeks since getting back into things after Christmas and strength is going up, can’t wait for the 8th week for a max out on all my lifts😆💪🏼

I’m forever on a mission to grow my shoulders, and because I train them 2x per week + one side delt exercise on a pull day I like to get creative and pick different variations of overhead, side and rear delt movements. This exercise here is one I’ve started including recently and I really like it! Because the side delt is such a small muscle, it is quite hard to progressively overload it constantly via increased weight. Therefore I play around with rep ranges, range of motion, angle and time under tension. This exercise here is brilliant because it really allows you to minimise using momentum by pressing your chest against the bench. Perform like a regular lateral raise, I like to do 10-12 reps!

Day 21/66: BRB GONNA GO KILL MY FINAL . It’s finals week for me (well only 1 final) & then I start my new term for my OB/Labor Delivery term next week! To be honest, during finals/midterms/when I’m studying excessively, I loose my appetite and end up having one full meal for the whole day while snacking throughout the rest of the day. Which is what happened yesterday 😅 Every week is different for me which is why it’s so difficult for me to stay consistent with my meals because I don’t have the same routine every week. But that’s not going to stop me from developing healthier eating habits. I’m still trying to eat as healthy as I can and have stopped buying processed foods like I used to and instead opt for whole real foods. We’re almost a third of the way there guys!! Bench Press . . Had push day today which includes chest, shoulders and triceps. Finished off the session with 10 minutes of high intensity cardio also considering I’m trying to cut fat. Going to be doing my cut until the end of the year and then begin bulking in January and finally put on some major size and strength! My form in this video began to slip as it was my 3rd working set therefore my arms were fatiguing so my back went up a little to help push, which when using correct form shouldn’t really happen. . . What are some benefits of the bench press? 🔥Increased upper body push strength 🔹Bigger pecs 🔥Stronger pecs 🔹Stronger triceps 🔥Stronger deltoids . . The bench press utilises several different muscles in your body, and the more weight you lift, the more those muscles will be worked, resulting in an increase in strength and size. Your pecs get worked a lot along with your shoulders and triceps when doing the pushing movement, specifically the anterior and the lateral deltoids (the muscles that surround your shoulders).

🔥BARBELL CURL🔥 Follow @stay_hungry_24x7 THE WRONG: I am sure you have seen this happen, the ego lifter.  Using too much weight, the body ends up in a compromised unsafe, injury prone position.  The shoulders not being back and the body not being straight negates the load on the biceps.  There is no core activation at the abs and glutes, simply put we are just moving weight from point A to point B without much benefit at all. - THE RIGHT: What we want to do whenever performing this exercise is to stand tall with your chest up and brace the core. Now that we have our chest up, we want to keep our elbows tight at the sides.  Slightly raise your hands until you feel tension on the biceps and curl up to shoulder height and squeeze at the top for about 1-2 seconds. Descend by slowly lowering the bar down while at the same time keeping the tension on the biceps.  By keeping the tension as much as possible throughout both the positive and negative (concentric and eccentric) contractions, we can stimulate as many muscle fibers as possible. Love this cause I’m always looking for more veggie protein options. Thank you for the info!! @dancudes ____ Follow @dancudes ! ____ Protein is an essential part of a healthy diet, let alone hypertrophy and making strength gains. Protein is made up of amino acids, 9 of which are what we call essential meaning our body cannot produce them and we need to obtain them through diet. To make gains, we want about 0.8-1g of protein per pound of bodyweight on average though that can be scaled up or down as needed and per individual and no, you do not have to eat animal products to obtain this protein. Plant-based products are absolutely awesome protein sources and here are One of my top ones below: ✔️Chia seeds are a complete source of protein and contain about 2-3g per tablespoon while also packing a ton of fiber and healthy fats. ✔️Hemp seeds, like chia, are a complete source of protein and contain 10g per 3 tablespoons. It is also the most popular plant-based protein supplement due to its high protein content. ✔️Legumes like beans and lentils are perfect as they could contain up to 25g per serving. They are an incomplete source of protein, so it is best to have them with a grain to compliment the amino acids they are missing. Beans and rice are an example. ✔️Tofu and tempeh are both soy-based and are both complete protein sources and great meat replacements for anyone who doesn't eat animal products.
