Kenzo and I took a surprise visit to @raeburnorchards at the beginning of the week to stock up on their orchard brew @roleystonebrewingco's new flavour cider, Gold'n Pear 🍐 a cider Kenzo’s dad has taken a liking to after I introduced it to him a few weeks ago. Raeburn Orchard is about 30km away from our house, so it was quite a long drive for both of us, but it sure wasn’t our first time there. We have visited the orchards many years ago for their spring and autumn festivals. Family owned and operated orchard in the Perth Hills region of Roleystone, they’re growers of apples, pears, peaches, nectarines, plums, persimmons, apricots etc. We met Carol and her niece and nephew while we were there and had a little chit chat. Carol was kind enough to give Kenzo an apple and two sweet plums for the trip home and I bought about 1kg worth of their fresh figs for my grazing board this weekend. .
Figs as you know are rich in minerals including potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron and copper and are a good source of antioxidant vitamins A and K that contribute to health and wellness – so many health benefits! Who wouldn’t want to have them right?!
I introduced figs to Kenzo on the same day and he loves them just as much as his dad does! I also enjoyed the figs with a glass of chilled Gold'n Pear flavour cider by Roleystone Brewing Co. .
