Super crispy Airfryer masala vadas. This is the South Indian version of Falafel definitely more flavorful. 😜
Chana dhal/kadalai parupu/split black chickpea (washed and soaked in water for 4-5 hours and drained)
Salt to taste
1️⃣ Chop all the vegetables and herbs.
2️⃣ In a blend add few cloves of garlic, half spoon of ginger, one green chilli, pinch of asafetida, salt to taste, pinch of turmeric and drained lentil (keep a handful of whole lentils aside they’ll add crunch to the vada) and blend to coarse mixture and empty into a bowl.
3️⃣ Add the chopped ingredients along with the saved whole lentils to the lentil mixture and mix well.
4️⃣ Turn on the Airfryer option on Vortex Plus, set temperature to 385 degrees.
5️⃣ Spray oil in the trays.
6️⃣ Using your hand, shape the mixture into flat vadas.
7️⃣ spray oil on the vadas and place it in the Airfryer.
8️⃣ Set the timing for 10 mins. After 10 mins flip the vadas, apart oul if needed and also interchange the trays (above and below) cook for 10 more mins or until the required color then serve.
