Deadlifting is going to be another compound lift that is going to be very important. Deadlifting has a decent risk of injury so deadlifting correctly is important to protect yourself, and make sure you get the most out of your workout. . 1️⃣FEET HIP WIDTH APART AND BARBELL OVER MID-FOOT: In order to establish a strong base of support, start with your feet under your hips with toes forward or slightly flared out. Step up to the bar so that it’s close to your shins and over your mid-foot. - 2️⃣HINGE YOUR HIPS BACK: Initiate the deadlift by sitting back with your hips. This will help you to load your posterior chain (glutes and hamstrings) and get into a strong starting position. - 3️⃣GRAB THE BAR JUST OUTSIDE YOUR SHINS: The wider your hands, the greater the demand on your mid and upper back. Keeping your hands in closer will help make the pull feel easier than if they were out too wide. - 4️⃣ALIGN YOUR ARMPITS DIRECTLY OVER THE BAR: This will set you up for a more vertical and direct bar path, which makes the deadlift much more efficient. - 5️⃣PUSH INTO THE FLOOR AND STAND TALL: Instead of thinking about “lifting” the bar off the floor, think about “pushing” your feet into the ground. The harder you push down into the floor, the stronger your deadlift will be. Stand tall at the top and look straight ahead to practice good alignment. - 6️⃣INITIATE THE DESCENT WITH ANOTHER HIP HINGE: Once you’ve gotten to the top of the deadlift, lower it back down by hinging your hips back, loading your posterior chain again, and getting right back into your original starting position. . . . . Love to get back in the gym with the hubs. It’s been a while! The other day I told Rob that we don’t workout together any more. He said “It’s because you hate working out with me.” I told him “No it’s because I hated working out. I wasn’t in a place to be pushed.” Rob is always good about pushing me to go farther than I thought possible. He believes in me more than I do sometimes. For a while I was in a place where I kept saying I wanted it (to lose weight) but wasn’t going for it. I would tell Rob “It’s too heavy” “I’m tired” “I don’t feel like it” and then cry when my jeans didn’t fit or a new stretch mark would pop up. You can have someone supporting you and try to motivate you but nothing will happen unless YOU want it bad enough to work for it. To be honest I haven’t wanted it bad enough until I was tired of not feeling confident or just good about myself. I felt unhealthy and miserable. I got discouraged the first time I hit a plateau and wasn’t seeing any new results. I wish I could go back in time and tell my old self to not give up and to shift my focus of just enjoying fitness instead of the number on the scale. Maybe I had to hit rock bottom again to come out from it with a new perspective and to become more humble. I had to re-train myself to love fitness again. You can literally do every exercise, one arm at a time. So get them all in every now and then!👊🏼 - ➡️Single Arm Cable Straight Arm Pulldown- for 4 sets of 20 to start off my back workout and the pump was real! - ✅Love this compared to using a bar because I can pull the handle down and past my legs getting a better contraction at the bottom! - ✅Really get that full range stretch in the lat on every rep. Posting this to be 100% transparent. I'm definitely guilty of only posting pictures of myself when I was more "shredded" I mean come one who isn't these days. Using the lat row machine.. it doesn’t matter if you are doing it standing or sitting or how far you are from the machine.. we are built differently with different range of motions. The most important thing is to: 1- Feel the muscle you are targeting. Its not just pulling. Are you targeting lower lats, higher lats or rear delts?? Feel it by using less weight with high reps then go higher.. 2- give that muscle its full range of motion so you can break the most of your muscle so it built bigger. Remember the broken parts get bigger when recovering.. so brake as much as you can 😉 @afunihill

Ever tried cluster training? Cluster training is basically to introduce short rests between your reps to be able to get in more reps than you can normally do.. This is used for strength training as well as you are shocking your body since its not how you normally train.. ————————————— You calculate 90% of your 1RM( 1Rep Max) and do two reps together. Then rest about 10 secs and repeat. In my case my 1RM is 170kg, so 90% is about 150kg which I barely get a 4 or 5 reps out of it.. with cluster training I managed to get 8 reps.. @afunihill
